About

My journey into picture books has been both natural and unexpected, shaped by my experience with aphantasia (the inability to see images in my mind). I create by exploring—following my pencil to translate curiosities, wonders, and dreams into vivid illustrations. Inspired by the world around me, I transform ideas into visual stories through pencil, paint, crayon, or pen.

I grew up immersed in creativity, surrounded by red clay dust, drying pots, and stacks of books. I earned a degree in music and a postgraduate diploma in graphic design from the London School of Arts. For 15 years, I toured internationally with The Shee before coming full circle. Storytelling became my focus and passion. This coincided with the birth of my first child. In 2022, my debut book, Too Snappy to Wear a Nappy, was selected for the dPictus Unpublished Picture Book Showcase and was ‘snapped up’ for publication shortly after. My second book, If a Monkey Ate Nothing but Bananas, releases in June 2025.

When I am not drawing or writing I am unschooling my two children, bicycle touring, hanging our with the hens in our wee city homestead, dancing or wild swimming. Family life and storytelling weave together in my work, reflecting a vibrant, creative life and a passion for crafting stories with heart.

I’m always eager to collaborate with like-minded publishers and agents who share a love for imaginative storytelling and visually rich narratives. If my journey resonates with you or if you see potential in my work, I would love to hear from you!

Come and say hi!
