Hello, I’m Lillias! I’m an illustrator, picture book writer, and creative explorer.
I follow my pencil to bring playfulness, heart, and curiosities to life on the page. Where words meet pictures, I craft stories that blend imagination with meaning, inviting readers to discover and explore with wonder.
“My journey into the world of picture books has been both winding and completely natural, as if every twist led me exactly where I was meant to be.”
Books
I grew up surrounded by red clay dust, drying pots, and stacks of books. Within their pages, I lost myself—and found myself. These early encounters with stories shaped who I am today. Writing and illustrating picture books fills me with immense gratitude; it’s not a job I take lightly. I cherish what I do, and my greatest hope is that even one child, reading my books, might discover the magic of stories and a life long love of reading.
‘Reading for Pleasure is the single most important indicator of a child’s future success’ (OECD, 2002).
Too Snappy to Wear a Nappy
Have you ever seen a crocodile wearing a nappy? Or a giraffe? One day, a small child imagines a nappy on giraffe—and it causes lots of laughs!! A funny and lighthearted tale about nappies, created to introduce toddlers to using a potty in a gentle, child-friendly way.
If a Monkey ate nothing but Bananas
What would happen if a bear ate nothing but honey and a cat lived on cream? Filled with lively rhymes and playful humour, we explore the misadventures of animals—and a few humans—when their diets go a little wild. Accompanied by vibrant, character-filled illustrations, this delightful story is a laugh-out-loud way to learn about healthy eating and the importance of balance.
“Children who read for pleasure simply do better in life.”
